Eserleri  uluslararas\u0131 alanda da sayg\u0131 ile kabul g\u00f6rm\u00fc\u015f ve \u00f6d\u00fcllendirilmi\u015ftir. Achern do\u011fumlu olan babas\u0131 Berthold Friedrich Brecht, daha sonra m\u00fcd\u00fcr\u00fc oldu\u011fu Haindlsch Ka\u011f\u0131t Fabrikas\u0131\u2019nda y\u00f6netici olarak \u00e7al\u0131\u015f\u0131yordu. Annesi Sophie Brecht, Brezing do\u011fumluydu. Gen\u00e7li\u011finde Eugen olarak tan\u0131nan Brecht, daha sonra Berthold veya Bertolt ad\u0131n\u0131 se\u00e7ti. Annesi, gen\u00e7li\u011finde utanga\u00e7 ve kolay hastalanan Brecht\u2019i s\u00fcrekli kollamak zorundayd\u0131. \u0130lkokuldan sonra, 1908 \u2013 1917 y\u0131llar\u0131 aras\u0131nda Peutinger lisesine gitti. Bir y\u0131l sonra 12 Mart\u2019ta k\u0131zlar\u0131 Hane Hiob d\u00fcnyaya geldi. K\u0131sa bir zaman sonra da ileride evlenece\u011fi ve 1924 y\u0131l\u0131nda, ikinci o\u011flu Stefan Brecht\u2019i do\u011furan sevgili &#8220;Helli&#8221;&#8216;si Helene Weigel ile tan\u0131\u015ft\u0131. \u00dc\u00e7 y\u0131l sonra Marianne Zoff\u2019dan bo\u015fand\u0131. Helene Weigel\u2019le evlenmesinden sonra 1929 y\u0131l\u0131nda k\u0131z\u0131 Barbara Brecht Schall d\u00fcnyaya geldi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">1920&#8217;li y\u0131llar\u0131n ikinci yar\u0131s\u0131nda Brecht art\u0131k inan\u00e7l\u0131 bir kom\u00fcnistti ve \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131 da politik ama\u00e7lar\u0131na uygun hale geliyordu. Hi\u00e7bir zaman ama Alman Kom\u00fcnist Partisi \u00fcyesi olmad\u0131. Politik d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcncelerine paralel olarak 1926 y\u0131l\u0131ndan itibaren epik tiyatro da geli\u015fiyordu. Kurt Weill ile birlikte yap\u0131lan m\u00fczikal drama \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131, epik tiyatronun geli\u015fmesine \u00e7ok \u00f6nemli katk\u0131larda bulunmu\u015ftur.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Brecht, eserleri ile toplumsal yap\u0131y\u0131 \u015feffaf hale getirmeyi, \u00f6zellikle yap\u0131n\u0131n de\u011fi\u015ftirilebilece\u011fini g\u00f6stermek istiyordu. Ona g\u00f6re edebi metinler bir i\u015fe yaramak zorundayd\u0131.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Brecht\u2019in Marksist d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnceleri, gerek Karl Korsch, Fritz Sternberg ve Ernst Bloch gibi dogmatik olmayan parti d\u0131\u015f\u0131 Marksistlerin, gerekse resmi kom\u00fcnist parti \u00e7izgisinin etkisi alt\u0131ndayd\u0131. Bir dizi Marksist \u00f6\u011fretiye dayal\u0131 oyunlar ortaya \u00e7\u0131km\u0131\u015ft\u0131.
